Aquaheat's owner, HEG, is re-committing its sponsorship
Aquaheat's owner, the Horizon Energy Group, is pleased to announce it is re-committing its sponsorship to the Central Bay Hockey Association and Stadium Horizon for a further five years. The Group and the Central Bay Hockey Association have enjoyed a successful partnership since 2005. Horizon Energy Group CEO Ajay Anand says the Group is deeply connected to the community and stakeholders.
"We are proud to invest in our community, from arts, to sports, to education - we live in the communities we work in and we strive to make those communities a better place," he says. "Community sport adds a crucial layer to health, fitness and wellbeing - that of social cohesion and social capital. It’s the package of club and team atmosphere, combined with physical benefits, that feels irreplaceable," says Mr Anand.
Chair of Central Bay Hockey Trust, Lesley Immink says the Trust is delighted to have the Horizon Energy Group renew the naming rights for Stadium Horizon. We have had our relationship with HEG for the past 17 years and they are a valued community sponsor which has really made a difference to the Trust and hockey community.
The facility is known as Stadium Horizon with Stage 1 of the project being the turf grounds, which were opened in April 2005. Stage 2 of the project was the pavilion and in 2008, the pavilion with ablutions and café shop, were added to the facility.
Fast forward, and since the first ball hit, player numbers and enthusiasm are as strong as ever, particularly with junior hockey. The lifetime of the turf carpet was estimated to be at approx 15 years and the Trust is currently looking at the turf carpet replacement being done in either late 2022 or early 2023. Having the support of Horizon Energy, enables the Trust and hockey community to continue moving forward, delivering better sports and health outcomes.
The Trust and hockey community is extremely grateful to the Horizon Energy Group and looks forward to a successful and continued partnership into the future.
