Aquaheat New Zealand Limited is a national provider of mechanical services throughout New Zealand and a wholly owned subsidiary of Horizon Energy Distribution Ltd.

Our business is growing and we are currently working on a wide variety of projects throughout New Zealand.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior HVAC/Mechanical Estimator to join our Northern Region team based at our modern premises in Avondale, Auckland.

You will enjoy the opportunity to expand your skills, work in a talented and collaborative team of Estimators, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Engineers, etc. and work closely with the leaders in the business.

Responsibilities of the role include;

  • Preparation of tenders for projects
  • Communication with Suppliers/Subcontractors in pricing tender documents
  • Ensure accurate take-offs for ductwork and pipework etc.
  • Communication with Clients on tender clarifications
  • Identify commercial advantages in the tender process
  • Identify risk and opportunities within the tender process
  • Develop effective relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to pre-contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Maintain tender information in an opportunity management database
  • Manage identification and assessment tender opportunities and production of tenders

To be successful for this role you will need the following skills and experience;

  • A minimum of 5 years (approx.10 preferred) estimating experience in the HVAC/Mechanical sector
  • A self-motivated team player with the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise and set programs within the tendering process, ensuring the successful completion and timely submission of tender documents
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An understanding of the technical nature of mechanical tenders
  • Computer literacy
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership
